MTV VMA 09,Taylor Swift Backstage Reaction to Kanye West Interrupting Her Acceptance Speech

The world was shocked last week at MTVs Video Music Awards as Taylor Swift deservingly got the award for the best female video. However her night and many others watching was ruined when the rather stupid Kanye West ran onto the stage and stated Beyonces video was much better. The quote all over the net at the moment was;

Taylor, Im really happy for you, Im gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all-time

A big point is that Taylor Swift is not currently bathing in money and although she was successful in 2008 Beyonce has a lot more money. Yet still her video contains an original story set in a closed school. She asked her brothers school if they would let her do the video there. She had spend literally hours of her time planning and asking permissions for various things. Beyonce obviously already has a huge following so the video that she made was just like any other. The normal video for Beyonce is dancing with a couple of extras, what was new and inventive here?. All of Swifts videos to date have taken time, planning and have had a storyline to them. That isnt of course to say that Beyonce does not spend hours learning the routine to her videos they just never seem original.

On the other hand it bought huge amounts of people to watch and re-watch the show itself even though Kanye was boo’d off of the stage surely no publicty it bad publicity? So an important question needs to be asked. Did MTV and Kanye set out to upset Taylor from the start or was it all just a coincidence? Russell Brands rants are what caused problems at last years events. Are MTV doing this on purpose to get more viewers? Wait and see if something big happens next year, after all three starts a trend.
